Down the road...part 1...it's monday....
It's Monday, which when you're on the road means one of two things: a day off or Iowa. On this particular Monday it means a day off, in scenic Lubbock, TX...the home of the great Buddy Holly. When enjoying you're day off you'll want to keep your Days Inn Suite fridge stocked with High Life and know your local TV schedule well so you can easily find a Law and Order marathon...preferably one with Vincent D'Nofrio. So far we've visited the great cities of St. Louis, Oklahoma City, Dallas, Austin, San Antonio and Houston. We're en route to Albuquerque, NM. I was talking to my friend Mark Boquist earlier today on the phone about our gig in Albuquerque. He's traveled many miles over the years and remembered playing the same joint for which we're bound. "It's not bad," he says.
We've a new man on the force with us this time...from Chicago's own Sons Of The West, on the drums, it's the wonderfully talented Gregg Midon. He's a ruthless young fella when it comes to drumming and we're having lot's of fun conversing with the ladies at the gas stations wearing the "If you mess with me, you mess with the whole trailer park," t-shirts.
Well, as we've settled into watching a TV show with the "Kim Kardashian of Staten Island," as she calls herself, it seems it's time enjoy the edible treasures of the vending machine run. Yay m&m's! See ya soon...tomorrow, New Mexico!
